Position: Solution Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation Location: Frankfurt, Madrid, London or Paris (Hybrid - 3 days in the office) The Job The AVEVA Services Principal Consultant is an integral and highly visible part of the AVEVA Unified Engineering (UE) Services delivery team that works off and on site to deliver the AVEVA Unified Engineering solutions (AVEVA E3D, Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation, and P&ID) to our clients. The Solution Engineer is the lead consultant on implementations for their specific solution(s) under UE and is responsible for leading business design workshops, gathering requirements, analysing, designing, and delivering the solution with configuration, testing, training, and support. This is a key role in contributing to the growth and success of our Engineering Business Area within the region. AVEVA Electrical and Instrumentation delivers real-time collaboration between the electrical and instrumentation project disciplines. Data and high-quality deliverables are shared delivering accuracy and efficiency from the front-end to the detailed design phases of a project. AVEVA Electrical and instrumentation has been designed to make life easier for your engineers, and ultimately add value to your business. The product shares the same platform as AVEVA Unified Engineering which is available on our secure cloud platform AVEVA Connect and can be configured with third-party tools, making it flexible and efficient to deliver projects effectively. Responsibilities The role's key responsibilities within the AVEVA Unified Engineering Services Delivery team are: - Lead technical discovery workshops with clients to capture functional requirements based on definition of customer business processes and workflows - To provide an overall plan for the deployment of the AVEVA Solutions - Author all required documentation, capturing the design decisions made throughout the discovery and design phases - Develop Data Model for AVEVA E3D, Engineering, Electrical, Instrumentation, and/or P&ID - Configure the relevant application(s) based on documented specifications that have been agreed upon with the Customer to support integrations between the solutions within UE - Work directly with Customer Lead Users to optimise the configuration and use of the system - Manage any User Acceptance Testing that is required through to completion and acceptance by the Customer - Train customer users on effective use of the configured system - Identify opportunities to optimize customer business process and workflows using the AVEVA Unified Engineering solution - Develop, update, and improve Unified Engineering Services toolkits necessary for providing best practice guidelines to customers - Work with the AVEVA Customer Support Team to resolve customer queries requiring 2nd Line Support - Engaging with and supporting AVEVA Product Teams and clients with requirements, analysis, design, and consultancy relating to product improvements and enhancement requests Skills and Qualifications - Experience in a consulting role in implementing enterprise software solutions serving any of the following: - - Oil and Gas, Marine, Mining, Power & Utilities, Infrastructure, Plant Owner Operators, EPC's, or other asset intensive organizations - Previous experience using AVEVA Electrical, Instrumentation or similar industrial engineering software solution - Deep understanding of AVEVA Electrical or Instrumentation, or similar, training and configuration activities - Previous experience with more than one of the tools that make up the AVEVA Unified Engineering solution is a bonus - Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team - Willingness to travel within the region and, if needed on occasion, abroad to perform consultancy tasks - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs/problems of prospective customers with little guidance - The ability to effectively manage and handle multiple and possibly competing commitments simultaneously - Experience in customer-facing skills and the ability to present product and solutions and deliver training - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Project experience supporting systems integrations - Proven experience with technical proposals and the creation of proof-of-concept demonstrations - Extensive and proven experience and knowledge: - In the Oil and Gas, Marine, Mining, Power and Utilities or Infrastructure industries - Have either an owner-operator or EPC contractor background - Engineering Degree or have a comparable professional qualification or equivalent experience - PML/ C# /.Net programming skills (secondary) - Good level IT skills (software installations/configuration, client/server, cloud, SaaS) - Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability - Ability to work to deadlines AVEVA requires all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment.
