ENG Bauen is proud to introduce an exciting new opportunity for an Automation Service Engineer to work within a globally recognized engineering and maintenance provider where you'll play a key part in supplying automation maintenance services in a wide variety of sectors across the UK.
As an Automation Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering remote and onsite support on a rotational basis, which requires flexibility and the ability to work away from home. You will play a vital role in diagnosing faults, operating various PLC/PC software application automation packages, and collaborating with clients to optimize their processes and resolve technical issues.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Automation professional with a background in engineering maintenance to take up a long-term position within a global organization that will expose you to working within an array of engineering environments and sectors while also giving you the chance to work on complex EPC projects with small scopes.
The role:
1. Provide engineering and maintenance support either remotely or from customer sites on PC/PLC/SCADA applications.
2. Estimate and perform automation small works and repairs.
3. Ensure safety compliance and create effective Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
4. Communicate with clients, observe production sequences, and provide ideas for improvement.
5. Prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and resolution.
The Person:
* Experience in a maintenance and/or commissioning role, demonstrating proficiency in fault finding using various PLC manufacturers and types.
* Ability to make minor modifications to PLC code and systems, including replacing PLC cards, identifying and rectifying coding issues, and effectively reading code to maintain production.
* Able to work collaboratively with client-side engineers to diagnose and advise on faults.
* Have experience with Siemens, Rockwell, and Omron.
* Capable of working independently as well as supervising a small team on specific projects.
* Familiarity with detailed EICA specifications, including scopes of work, design drawings, schedules, and related documentation.
