Salary: £70,000 + £7,500 KPI Bonus
Working Hours: Monday - Friday Days
Company Overview: Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. They are looking for a proactive and driven Site Engineering Manager to lead & develop their engineering team.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Managing a team of 14 people
* Ensure that the engineering department complies with health & safety and hygiene standards
* Manage the engineering operation in line with KPI and budgetary targets
* Create and monitor staff training & development plans
* Conduct team reviews, appraisals, disciplinaries, return-to-work meetings, and holiday management
* Manage contractor activity, liaise with engineering suppliers, and oversee ordering of spares & inventory control
* Be the point of contact for out-of-hours support to engineers when needed
* Implement continuous improvement plans and promote lean manufacturing incentives
* Review plant performance regularly
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Must be an experienced engineering manager
* Focused individual on team development and performance plans
* Flexible and available for support when needed
* Experience in high-speed/volume manufacturing industry
* Able to run an engineering department that meets group-level standards & KPIs
* Supplier management and inventory control experience
* Health & safety management experience
* Ideally NEBOSH qualified
* Time-served engineer
* Budget control & forecasting experience
* Approachable and confident man-manager
