We are currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team.
As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and implementing a standardized corporate HSE management system, including radiation protection and waste management. You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, maintaining and updating risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing measures to reduce accidents.
Your role includes developing safety policies, procedures, and protocols, defining safe work practices, and creating safety document templates within the AMR Quality Management System (QMS) and H&S system.
You will be accountable for the H&S performance of the Alliance Medical Radiopharmacy (AMR) facilities, regularly attending Radiopharmaceutical Production Units to ensure ongoing compliance and provide specific support. Working closely with the CSGO, you will provide recommendations and guidance on safety-related matters, continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, review and approve incident reports (DATIX), and implement corrective measures as necessary.
Ensuring compliance with regulations from bodies such as the Environmental Agency (EA), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is crucial. You will facilitate and conduct site inspections and audits, compile and maintain relevant registers, and attend regulatory inspections. Promoting a positive H&S culture, providing guidance and training to managers and employees, and communicating H&S issues throughout the company are key aspects of this role.
You will oversee compliance with radiation safety standards, lead and coordinate investigations into accidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures. Additionally, you will manage emergency procedures, respond to H&S issues, and stay informed about local and national occupational H&S regulations to ensure the organization meets or exceeds required standards.
You will collaborate with UK facilities to establish and enforce standardized safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, assess risks, and develop and deliver training programs. As the Deputy Chair for Site Radiation Protection and Safety Committee Meetings, you will represent AMR on the AML H&S Committee and champion ESG initiatives within the AMR network. Working with Site Managers, you will develop site-specific safety documentation and interact with various Alliance Medical Group functions to support investigations into accidents and report findings to relevant authorities.
Please note you will be traveling frequently to all of our 5 sites; however, the main focus will be on Guildford.

Qualifications
Minimum:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is required.
* Educated to degree level in Physics or Chemistry (or related subject) or able to demonstrate practical work experience in a scientific field.
* Radiation Protection qualifications.
* The H&S Manager must understand the regulations, industry-specific hazards, and risk management principles.
Desired:
* NEBOSH National Diploma
* ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Certification
Experience
5 years’ experience in the field of H&S, including Radiation Protection.
* Demonstrated knowledge of HSE regulations, Ionising Radiation Regulations, and Risk Management.
* An understanding of cGMP regulations and procedures would be advantageous.
* Specific experience of PET radiopharmaceuticals production and associated facility management is an advantage.
