Newington Academy are seeking a deputy designated safeguarding lead to support the successful safeguarding of all our pupils. The role of the Safeguarding Officer is essential in promoting the safety and welfare of all students in the academy's activities at all times and ensuring that appropriate arrangements for safeguarding and child protection are in place. The role involves providing advice to staff when dealing with student welfare and safeguarding issues and making referrals to appropriate agencies when required. You are someone who has: Knowledge of and experience within safeguarding processes (school based is advantageous but not essential). Experience of working in an environment with children/young people. Ability to be robust and resilient. Able to build positive relationships with parents and supporting agencies. Attention to detail in written and verbal communication, capture sensitive information and be able to communicate this appropriately to the relevant people via relevant methods.
