Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, haematology, or transfusion science.
2. Process and analyse patient samples, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy in results.
3. Assist in the preparation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and reagents.
4. Work in collaboration with senior Biomedical Scientists and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
5. Adhere to health and safety protocols, laboratory guidelines, and quality control standards.
Essential Criteria:
1. Qualification: BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent).
2. HCPC Registration: (or eligibility for registration).
3. Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
4. Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
5. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience in a specific discipline (e.g., microbiology, haematology) is an advantage but not essential.
2. Knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards and regulations.
