Children and Young Person Programme Facilitator

30 hours a week/ 5 month contract
Brook Street Social Care are excited to support a leading domestic abuse charity to recruit a dedicated Children and Young Person Programme Facilitator. This is a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of young individuals through a structured, psycho-dynamic intervention known as "Drawing and Talking.
About the Role:
1. Deliver the "Drawing and Talking" programme, a 12-week intervention consisting of weekly 30-minute sessions.
2. Guide children and young people in exploring and communicating their emotions through non-directed drawing techniques.
3. Create a safe and supportive environment where participants can access their unconscious mind and visually express their worries and preoccupations.
4. Monitor and document the progress of each child, adapting the approach as necessary to meet individual needs.
5. Work collaboratively with schools, social services, and other community organisations to provide holistic support.
6. Engage in continuous professional development to ensure the highest quality of care and support.
What We're Looking For:
7. A strong passion for supporting young people affected by domestic abuse.
8. Experience working with children and young people, particularly in a therapeutic or educational setting.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. The ability to create a trusting and empathetic environment.
11. Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, art therapy, education, or a related field.
