Job Summary
We are looking for an outstanding, committed Junior Sister to support the Clinical Matron and with the other Band 6's will be key in leading the unit to provide high quality safe, effective and compassionate care for patients. CCU is a 13 bedded unit, treating a wide range of cardiac conditions and having on site a 5 day Cardiac Day Unit, which CCU supports when patients have complications post procedure and will need to be admitted. Therefore, it would be beneficial for the applicant to have taken some cardiac courses and have some experience of nursing patients post procedure. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Matron and will be key in leading the ward team to provide high quality safe, effective and compassionate care for patients. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop the service. You will be able to evidence excellence in clinical practice and demonstrate the ability to facilitate and manage change in the clinical environment. Main Duties of the Job
The expectations within this job description will be met through professional leadership, clinical management, hands-on clinical practice, education and training, and research.
The post holder will ensure that high quality nursing care is delivered within their designated clinical area.
The post holder will set the standards of clinical practice, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, and will monitor patient outcomes.
The post holder will be responsible for the operational effectiveness of their designated clinical area, being present in their clinical area during the most appropriate periods of work time.
