Working as a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties to determine the nature and severity of their needs.
* Formulating accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings.
* Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to address speech, language, and communication challenges.
* Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and support clients in achieving their goals.
* Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.
* Providing consultation and guidance to families, teachers, and support staff to enhance communication support outside of therapy sessions.
* Maintaining detailed and accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
* Participating in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about speech and language disorders and promote early intervention.
Requirements:
* Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
* Proven experience in assessing and treating individuals with a range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
* Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding when working with individuals with communication difficulties.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
