Part Time - Administrative Assistant to the Department of Biblical, Religious and Philosophical Studies and The Sider Institute
This position provides administrative and project support to the Department of Biblical, Religious, and Philosophical Studies and The Sider Institute. Responsibilities include data entry, project and event coordination, maintaining websites, and general support responsibilities, as well as assisting in school-wide functions as necessary when determined by the dean.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
2. Education Preferred: Associate’s Degree
3. Experience Required: Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative support/secretarial experience
Skills and Characteristics Required:
1. Effective communication skills
2. Ability to communicate successfully across departments and with various constituencies, including external contacts
3. Strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
4. Strong computer proficiency including the ability to work independently in several Higher Education software packages, Excel, and various databases, as well as understand basic web design
5. Ability to work independently
6. Ability to effectively supervise work study students
Primary Duties:
1. Manage daily administrative operations for the department: mail distribution, ordering supplies, messages, telephone, faculty schedules, syllabi, photocopying, coordination with faculty services, preparation of department meeting minutes, oversight of audio-visual equipment, processing of reimbursement requests and purchase orders, etc.
2. Execute administrative tasks delegated by department chairs, including processing IDEA faculty evaluations, overseeing department award procedures, conference registrations, travel arrangements, maintaining department websites, planning on- and off-campus events, and communicating with prospective and accepted students.
3. Work with the department chair on curriculum projections and updating curriculum sheets.
4. Manage department resources: prepare and manage department budgets; oversee department external grant budgets, record-keeping and communications; develop resource allocation and stewardship strategies.
5. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
