The Role
Due to continuous success here at Fortem, we are currently seeking a Roofer to join our Stonewater Housing contract, covering Swindon, Bristol and the surrounding areas. This is a full time, permanent role working on a Fortem contract. It's also a great opportunity to join a highly successful and expanding business.
The Project
• You’ll carry out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of different roof types, (residential and communal), i.e. slate tile repairs, flat roof / torch on repairs & general roof maintenance. • You will repair and renew guttering, work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections. • You will ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision, carry out fault diagnosis and communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Managers to ensure all follow-on works have been captured, leaving the resident assured. • You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. • You will operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential Criteria • Good knowledge of H&S and working at height • Certificate or NVQ in Roofing, or equivalent QBE • Full UK driving licence (max 5 points) Desirable: • Past experience in a Responsive Repairs role • Past experience working within social housing • PASMA trained and experience of carrying out scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this) Fortem embraces diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all sectors of the community.
