The role We are currently recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager to join the team delivering a c£150m construction project located in Stafford, which is part of a wider MoD Framework. The Senior Commercial Manage r is responsible for all commercial and financial elements on a high value, complex construction project through pre-construction, delivery and final accounts stages. What will you do? Leads the management of the cash position across project with focus at trade package level to deliver profit to business in accordance with business unit plan. Contributes to the robust implementation and management of commercial, legal, insurance and risk controls at package level feeding into the wider management of the project. Procure the project in accordance with approved strategy ensuring that orders are fully scoped, bought at best value and are correctly contracted in accordance with limits of authority. Accurate commercial reporting and contract administration with focus on trade packages and other supply orders. This includes (but is not limited to) interim payments, management of change accounts, cashflows, final accounting and contract administration. Adhering (and where necessary put in place) to structures and processes to ensure consistency of delivery across the project. Where the position has direct reports; developing team members to enhance the overall performance of the project and ensuring that project teams are appropriately resourced and that succession plans are in place. Managing supply chain relationships at package level to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to procurement. You will bring Quantity surveying degree or experience within the role. NEC contract experience and understanding / experience of target cost contracts. Experience working with public sector clients. Experience of working for a principal contractor on either new build or refurbishment projects. Demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills. Experience with tendering subcontract works. Able to prepare subcontract documentation ready for engrossment by external parties.
