Our team are embarking on a piece of work to monitor data to identify and respond to patterns indicative of potential fraud. This will support our current work that reduces the likelihood of fraud occurring. We will bring in data science capabilities to be deployed in counter fraud activity and work closely with partners across health and government to further maximise the preventative impact of proactive counter fraud analysis.
The post holder will be a proactive fraud investigator within the organisation to work alongside the data teams to identify areas of potentially fraudulent activity or areas vulnerable to fraud. As a proactive fraud investigator, you will explore all tactical options within the fraud investigation model to deal with the identified problem areas in detecting, disrupting, preventing and pursing offenders. You will also retain responsibility for all enforcement work within the Project Athena programme.

You will undertake collaborative engagements with stakeholder groups, you will facilitate solutions to progress, meet milestones and enable the sector to combat fraud providing project management oversight and accountability, whilst adhering to tight deadlines and reporting, governance processes.
There will be the additional expectation of developing your own skillsets for and creating and maintaining high quality outputs, whilst managing competing deadlines.

Driving counter fraud initiatives tasked by the Proactive Counter Fraud Lead and Response Team Manager or from NHSCFA’s tasking process.
Apply the Fraud Investigation Model and determine all possible avenues for counter fraud initiatives.
Work alongside the data science arm of the program of work, examining anomalies identified and communicating back actionable insight generated which will improve the statistical detection modelling approach.
Work collaboratively in the development of pattern detection in relation to emerging fraud within data.
Sharing knowledge of fraud within the NHS with Data Science and Analytical professionals for large scale modelling and identification of pattern in data indicative of fraud.
Apply the Fraud Investigation Model and determine all possible avenues for counter fraud initiatives.
