The Education Network is currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in an Alternative Provision Academy supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs, who have been identified as being at risk of exclusion, harm or have already been excluded from mainstream education. Children are referred by partner local authorities and schools within the Northwest region.
You will assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes and undertake predetermined activities with pupils so that their intellectual and social development (including self-reliance and self-esteem) is fostered.
The School uses trauma informed and therapeutic approaches to re-engage learners with their education. You will be passionate about giving young people the skills they need to make a valuable contribution to society and to fulfil their dreams.
The successful candidate will:
– Have previous experience of working in a similar environment
– A willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities
– Be keen to learn and develop professionally
– Be able to work on their own initiative
– Be a pro-active team member, committed to raising standards and achievements
– Have a passion for education and raising the achievement of all children
