Are you an ICT specialist with a good idea of concepts, tools, and software with the ability to deliver the curriculum engagingly and effectively to SEND learners? Do you have knowledge of trauma-informed practices and the impact of trauma on learning and behaviours?
Our client in Calderdale are looking for a Teacher of ICT to join their team as soon as possible. We are seeking an individual with a creative touch who can teach and plan an inclusive and engaging ICT curriculum. The school caters for children aged 6 to 16 who have Autism, ADHD, and SEMH challenges. Recognising that the education journey for these children has often been difficult, we are looking for someone who can help overcome these barriers to learning and self-belief, adopt a holistic approach to their development, and provide them positive regard to express their emotions and feelings.
You will be part of a successful team of committed staff dedicated to creating an outstanding learning environment within a dynamic setting. A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEND) is essential, particularly SEMH and complex Autism. We encourage applications from teachers who have experience in either mainstream or specialist educational settings.
The ideal candidate will need to :
- Relevant experience delivering ICT across KS2 up to KS4
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as directed by the Senior Leadership Team
- To provide a safe secure educational setting based on nurture principles
- Address gaps within learning associated with all areas of the national curriculum
- To assist colleagues to move towards addressing their own pupil needs.
- To provide relevant documentary evidence for all pupils
- To work within the wider service team to facilitate the provision of education to pupils
