Job Title: Controls Design Engineer ️ Location: UK (with travel up to 60% across EMEA) Job Type: Full-time ⏰ About the Role: Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge control systems for automated material handling solutions? We are looking for a talented Controls Design Engineer to join our dynamic team In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing control solutions for world-class automated systems. You will work on PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Design & Implementation: Deliver control system designs for automated material handling systems, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and budget requirements. Software Development: Produce PLC software and visualization systems, and emulate control systems in a virtual environment. Testing & Commissioning: Test PLC software, commission control systems on-site, and provide support during system commissioning and end-user training. ️ Documentation: Create detailed documentation, including design calculations, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, and operation manuals. Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements to enhance project delivery time, cost, and quality. Qualifications & Experience: Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred, but HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechatronics/Controls Engineering will also be considered. Technical Skills: Proven experience in designing control systems using Siemens S7 or TIA Portal. Proficiency in industrial networks like Profinet, Profibus, or EthernetIP. Familiarity with E-plan is a plus. Industry Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in industrial automation environments. Knowledge: Strong understanding of PLC development tools, electrical schematics, and distributed control systems. Familiarity with Machine Directive standards is essential. Travel: A full UK driving licence is required, as the role involves up to 60% travel to customer sites across the UK and EMEA. Why Join Us?
