To strengthen our team as we relocate our Liverpool site and build a brand-new wet production site in Buckingham, we are looking for a:
Engineering Team Leader
Buckingham (UK) with travel to Liverpool up to the middle of September 2025
Rotating shift pattern over 4 weeks, 3 weeks on days Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 14:00, 1 week on lates Monday to Thursday, 14:00 - 00:00
Mission
The Engineering Team Leader identifies and manages risks or productivity improvement opportunities that can affect asset reliability and business operations. The focus is on risk management, loss elimination, and lifecycle asset management. They aim to reduce the cost of failure by minimizing downtime. They assess the reliability of assets and identify areas that need improvement whilst guaranteeing and achieving the required availability (operational safety and maintainability) of facilities in the longer term. They ensure the active and quantifiable contribution to the continued reduction of production costs. The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for all operational performances (SHE, Quality, Service, Cost, and People) of the maintenance department and implements the continuous improvement program towards Operational Excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
* The Engineering Team Leader is responsible for full compliance of their department to all applicable legal regulations and international food safety standards: safety, functional competencies, working conditions, environment, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Prerequisite Programs (PRP), British Retail Consortium (BRC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Halal, Kosher, allergens …
* Contact point for the total maintenance of the plant, buildings of the site and the utilities
* Developing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes for new and existing assets
* Performing data analysis to predict and curb failures before they occur
* Supporting the Engineering Planner by updating the preventive maintenance plan in the CMMS system and ensuring alignment with data and OEM information
* Planning performance evaluation tests to determine potential production and safety risks
* Performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and recommending corrective action
* Collaborating with maintenance teams to develop proactive maintenance strategies that enhance asset reliability
* Working with project team to ensure the maintainability and reliability of newly installed and modified equipment and ensuring the CMMS system is up to date.
* Ensuring adherence to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process
* Participating in the Early Equipment Management (development process for the design and installation of custom machine specifications
* Providing technical support to other teams such as production, H&S, Quality and Engineering
* Working with the production team to ensure asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) optimization
A great candidate will have:
* Academic degree: HNC/HND in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled)
* Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in Maintenance
* ICT: MS Office + Office 365 and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint)
* Mobility: 5% travelling (for the first 6-12 months) to the Simonswood site in Liverpool
* Demonstrated knowledge of statistical, mathematical, and engineering concepts
* Experience using statistical and probability methods and tools
* Critical and problem-solving skills
* Logical thinking
* Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads
* Knowledge of engineering concepts such as lifecycle asset management, risk management, configuration management, and loss elimination
* Change management & influencing (ability to engage people & drive improvements without formal authority)
* Effective communication & Emotional Intelligence (sharing best practices/results to empower the program).
* Driver for continuous improvement (Challenge status quo)
* Coaching & teaching skills
* Lean Manufacturing methodologies knowledge (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)

* Salary of up to £55,000 based on experience
* 24 days holiday per year plus all UK bank holidays (reflective of 13 weeks working only 4 days a week on rotating pattern)
