As Careers and Employability Partner, you will be responsible for delivering the full range of employability and careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) provision and services to support University students and graduates in making informed career choices. Your work will help them develop effective strategies to succeed in the graduate job market and have a positive societal impact.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a labour market informed and University-wide approach to enhancing student employability is taken. This will provide all students with opportunities to engage with relevant and up to date careers and employability learning throughout their time at the University.
We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. About you
* You have experience of designing and delivering careers coaching or careers education, information, advice and guidance in education, industry or relevant professions such as recruitment.
* An understanding of how CEIAG techniques enhance graduate employability.
* Ability to design and deliver engaging careers and employability related teaching and learning as part of curriculum and extracurricular activity.
* Experience of managing successful client/stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrable track record of engaging with employers and/or other external organisations to create employment opportunities and/or careers and employability related learning opportunities.
* Knowledge of the graduate labour market and its implications for graduate recruitment.
* An understanding and knowledge of employer needs, and the implications for a successful graduate employability service.
* Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills, particularly in relation to working with students, external stakeholders and university colleagues.
* Ability to manage a client caseload, work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrable track record in developing and delivering projects aimed at improving employability.
* A track record of working empathetically with individuals from diverse backgrounds to enable them to maximise their potential.
Qualification
Essential:
* Degree/HND or equivalent.
* Level 6 or higher qualification in careers guidance, or relevant work experience (e.g. education, recruitment, HR, work placements) with a commitment to work towards completing a professional guidance qualification where not held.
Desirable:
* A teaching and learning qualification or fellowship of Advanced HE.
* A qualification/experience in an appropriate, associated, occupational sector/industry to aligned subject area.
