Job summary We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Performance Analyst to join our fantastic Performance Analysis team. This is an exciting opportunity in our Digital & Technology Directorate where you will be helping to design and deliver quality digital services for the millions of users of our services. You will perform a critical role in digital service teams, working closely with our other professions such as user research, design, product and development. You'll create data driven hypotheses and performance frameworks to iterate, improve and test services and provide collective insights.You will be responsible for communicating analysis and insight across the teams that create and manage Companies House digital services. We are currently undergoing a period of organisational transformation. Lead the performance analysis of your area to make sure services meet the performance requirements set out in theDigital Service Standardand represent Performance Analysis at service assessments. Collaborate with developers to ensure analytical configurations are implemented, tested and updated accordingly. Work with service teams to develop performance measurement frameworks including key performance indicators (KPIs), turning service goals into tangible performance measures. Actively participate in the government Performance Analyst community to share examples of best practice in performance management. Act as an ambassador for analytics, promoting the value of performance analysis. Person specification We are looking for the following, which will be assessed at sift and at interview. Experience of turning complex data into compelling, clear and actionable stories, presenting analysis andrecommendations for action in easily understandable and engaging ways including online dashboards and other data visualisations. Substantial experience in digital analytics and data analysis including using digital analytics APIs. Working level knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
or other programming languages such as Python in the context of
configuration
and interrogation
of analytics and to develop online dashboards. Experience in developing performance measurement frameworks including key performance indicators (KPIs). Experience in
integrating digital analytics data with qualitative data, such as user surveys and user research, to develop hypotheses for testing and gather richer insight. Experience with version control methods/software and best practices such as GitHub. Experience working as a Performance Analyst, with knowledge of theDigital Service Standard. Experience in mentoring and coaching other Service Performance Analyststo improve the effective collection, analysis and presentation of data. An awareness or experience of usingagile methodology. Experience with digital analytics platforms, includingMatomo and Google Analytics working with developers to add appropriate tagging. Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders to convince them of the value of performance analysis in the development of a service that meets user needs. Experience of combining performance data with other data sources, interpreting this data and making it accessible through visualisation techniques for a varied audience. Experience of developing performance analysis skills to enable the team to deliver high quality analysis.
