Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Overhead Crane
Our client, a successful provider of architectural coating and protection solutions, is looking for an experienced, professional Electrical Engineer for their Glasgow site. With a wide range of applications, our client is able to provide total solutions to its customer’s needs as well as offer each customer a level of unparalleled service and technical backup. This role is key to the ongoing service and maintenance of our client's manufacturing facility.
The Role
Responsible to the Business Manager, this role requires applicants to be involved in both reactive and proactive service and repair of our client’s onsite plant. The role has a strong electrical bias but would suit multi-skilled engineers with strong electrical experience. One of the main problem areas our client has is with the overhead cranes and controls of the system; applicants with experience in a heavy engineering industry would be ideal. The facility works 24 hours, so this role will have some on-call rota time which is shared within the department.
The Person
Applicants will preferably have present or previous electrical service and maintenance experience within heavy engineering. You should hold relevant qualifications to perform electrical work and be a team player. Applicants who have worked with overhead cranes in service and maintenance would be ideal for this role. Your natural confidence and enthusiasm will demonstrate your ability to undertake this challenging and rewarding new career. The person must be electrically biased, and while crane experience is preferred, it is not essential. The job requires shift work: 7am-3pm and then the next week 3pm-11pm alternating. You will work as part of a 3-man team, including a second-year apprentice.
Compensation
As a blue-chip company, you will receive a competitive salary of £40K per annum with a bonus twice yearly of half a month's pay minimum, plus overtime and call-out allowance (Overtime will be paid at a fixed rate, and the person must be able to cover night shift call-outs if required, again on a rotation). Final salary pension with a contribution of 9% from the employee and 12% from the company, along with private medical cover.
Contact us to discuss this opportunity and your application to this exciting role, as interviews will take place over the next few weeks.
