As part of the transformation we are building out our product offering and our product function, changing the way we are developing products, moving to a more agile way of working and putting customers at the centre of our product strategy and delivery. The Lead UX/UI Designer is responsible for developing and leading the UX/UI practice, which is still an emerging discipline within ISS. This role involves collaborating closely with product teams and the transformation program while also contributing as an individual. The candidate taking on the role of Lead UX/UI Designer ideally has been on a similar journey in a previous organisation and can demonstrate how they have taken practical steps to work with product leaders to implement user-centric product development. Key Duties: Act as a passionate advocate of design methods and practices to the rest of the organisation Support and enable a research & data-driven and customer-centric way of working Develop and execute a vision for the function of UX & UI within Product Working closely with the Product and Engineering teams, advocate best practices such as design systems Demonstrate expertise with UI/UX design tools, for example wireframing and interactive prototyping, including Figma and other general design tools Comfortable working with strong-minded, creative and collaborative teams Comfortable working with and challenging stakeholder from all levels of seniority Excellent creative problem-solving skills – creating simple solutions to complex problems Team Leadership Responsibilities: Recruitment of team members ensuring an effective and enjoyable onboarding experience is delivered Line manage UX/UI team colleagues Ensure the team are productive, and fully embedded in their respective product teams Previous experience mentoring, upskilling and inspiring design team members to excellence Establish a career progression plan for the UX/UI practice Create a culture of mutual respect & curiosity in which knowledge on design methods, tools and trends are shared (not just within the UX/UI team but with the wider organisation) and learning is valued. Champion a culture of continuous improvement Create a culture of high-quality delivery Candidate Requirements: 5 years of experience working as a designer or leader within UX, Product or Service Design.
