Permanent, Full Time. Your working days will be Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm, 4.30pm on a Friday and Flexi time is available.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated fully qualified Environmental Health Officer to join Bristol City Council's Public Protection Team, a busy, diverse and ambitious organisation and city.
What will I be doing?
As part of your duties, you'll have responsibility for giving advice and assistance to the public and businesses, investigating service requests, carrying out Food Safety and Health and Safety inspections and investigations, and undertaking enforcement action as necessary to ensure public health is protected.
The team covers the areas of Food Safety, Infectious Disease Control, Port Health, Pollution Control, Pest Control, and Health and Safety.
This role will primarily be involved in Food Safety and Health and Safety, and there may be opportunities to work across other areas and training.
What do I need to have?
You will have excellent communication skills and hold a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health & registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHRB). You should also have considerable post-qualification Environmental Health practice experience, with a good knowledge and understanding of Environmental Health issues, including legislation, regulations, codes, and good practice.
