TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in the Sandwell area, supporting with their recruitment for a Special Needs Teaching assistant / SEND LSA to start with immediate effect. The school offers an alternative curriculum to students aged 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream education.The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social, and behavioural skills.
The school is looking for a proactive and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to take on this long-term role potentially leading to a permanent placement for the right candidate.
The Successful Special Needs Teaching assistant / SEND LSA will have:
Experience supporting students who are verbal and non-verbal
Experience with ASD, ADHD, Learning Disabilities
Feel comfortable around students with challenging behaviour
Exceptional behaviour management skills
The role will include:
Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation
Work with pupil who requires additional support
Leading group work
Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
Full Time work Mon – Fri 8:30am – 3:30pm
