Senior Project Planner (Defence) Location : Cambridge (Hybrid working available, approx. 3 days in the office) Salary : Competitive salary and remuneration package, including 27 days holiday, pension contributions matched up to 9%, and private healthcare. About the role : As a Senior Project Planner, you will play a crucial role in delivering integrated project planning and scheduling activities across projects. Reporting operationally to the lead Programme Director, you will create and maintain integrated schedules, providing essential project planning reports and metrics. Key Responsibilities : Develop and manage project plans and schedules for various projects within the programme. Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. Resource load programme/project schedules and support the generation of monthly SPI, CPI, EVM, and CPA reports. Evaluate project schedule outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Mentor junior planners and project teams to enhance their project planning skills. Manage changes to the Project Contract Master Schedule (CMS) and conduct risk analysis for proposed changes. Conduct Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and Sensitivity Analysis to assess programme uncertainty. Support adherence to Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes and facilitate ‘Lessons Learned’ activities. Qualifications : Experience in project planning roles, ideally within the defence sector, covering Bids, Projects, and/or Programmes. Understanding of engineering development principles and manufacturing processes. Expertise in project planning tools and techniques (e.g., MSP, P6 Primavera). Proficient in EVM, SPI, and CPI, with the ability to implement these in project planning. Experience in generating Critical Path Analysis and Risk Adjusted Schedules. Desirable: Experience in a collaborative matrix-managed IPT environment and a qualification in Project Controls or Project Management.
