We have a fantastic opportunity for Permanent Delivery Manager – Highways to join our NMC SW Contract in Polmadie. This is an on-site position.
Our NMC SW account is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020. We are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response.
Our team is first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day.
By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.
The Delivery Manager – Highways is responsible for the management of all construction activities in relation to our Routine Maintenance programme of works undertaken by Amey and our sub-contractors.
The shift pattern is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm with opportunities to work overtime at weekends and occasional nightshifts.
This role would suit a candidate currently working in a similar position who has experience of managing Principal Contractors duties with a background within Civil Engineering, Construction or Term Maintenance Highways Contracts.
You will be responsible for:
* Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
* Deliver works programme to the client’s programme and budget
* Use construction solutions that cause minimum disruption to traffic
* Effective planning and use of supervisory resources
* Receive completed scheme designs and create programme of works, construction phase plans and arrange any required sub contract or supply chain support.
* Develop and maintain procedures to achieve certainty of programme delivery
* Liaise with others regarding supervision of works, including establishing required resource levels
* Responsible for the control and deployment of all associated resources (Plant, Labour, Materials) and ensuring accurate allocation and recording
* Ensure that projects are delivered to time and budget in accordance with the client’s programme and financial commitment
* Review design and contractual options during the design process
* Oversee measurement and valuation of work carried out
* Review success of solutions and provide feedback to all relevant parties
We want to hear from you if you are/have:
* Operational Health and Safety experience or qualifications
* An organised team player with the ability to communicate well with others
* Highway Maintenance background is preferred
* A full UK driving licence is essential
* Competent user of Microsoft Office and digital devices
It is essential you have an Engineering qualification minimum of HNC, or equivalent level qualification to be considered for this role.
