Group Financial Controller
A leading B2B manufacturer, with £50m turnover and growing is looking for a Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function - long term career opportunity and progressive path.
We are exclusively working with the client. First round interviews to be held w/c 24 April.
Responsibilities
* Number 1 Finance role across the group, reporting to the board.
* Long-term aim is for someone to develop and progress into group FD and partner the management team in their strategic growth plans.
* Very hands-on role, requiring a candidate with a can-do attitude and a strong background in accountancy looking for the next long-term step in their career.
* Based in Essex.
* Full time, permanent and on site. Mon - Thurs: 8.30 - 17:00 and Fri: 8.30 - 16.00.
* Salary c. £110k; Pension; Car.
* 25 days paid holiday plus public and bank holidays.
Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively:
* Leading and managing finance team of 4/5 in UK and oversight for European entities.
* Managing transactional team, overseeing and reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash posting, credit cards, expenses and all general ledger entries.
* Responsibility for all Group Entities.
* Preparation of and review of consolidated Management Accounts.
* Stock valuation and reporting, including goods in transit, stock accrual and FX.
* Performance against budget appraisal and reporting.
* Cash flow management.
* Budget preparation.
* Handling VAT, PAYE and Tax duties, including corporation tax.
* Preparing and completing monthly payroll.
* Responsibility for maintaining statutory records for the business.
* Company Secretarial.
* Liaise with auditors and preparing audit packs.
* Project management of process changes and implementations.
Experience Required
* Minimum of five years’ experience at Financial Controller level, managing a Finance team.
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and background of strong academic results.
* Experience in manufacturing / distribution sector essential.
* Experience of group accounting.
* Extensive experience with foreign purchases, payments, stock valuation and accounting.
* Very strong Excel and IT skills.
* Analytical mind with a strategic ability.
* Strong organisational and leadership skills.
* Attention to detail, highly literate and numerate.
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of personnel.
