NHS Scotland is committed to promoting equality and diversity within our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. We aim for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and empowered to give their best. We welcome applications from all sections of society.
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are pleased to invite applications for the role of Lead Nurse – Child Protection at NHS Grampian. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the Health Board and with multiagency partners to lead operationally and strategically our efforts to keep children safe.
Applicants should have significant operational and strategic experience in Child Protection, with a strong understanding of multiagency working. They should have extensive experience in complex child protection practice, policy development, and procedure creation for a Health Board.
The role requires leading across service boundaries and building relationships with Police Scotland, Local Authorities, and Health and Social Care Partnerships. Therefore, strong influencing and communication skills are essential.
NHS Grampian serves the North East of Scotland and is one of only four teaching Health Boards in Scotland. With strong links to universities and local authorities, we provide tertiary services to approximately 590,000 residents within Grampian and neighboring NHS Boards, employing over 17,000 staff.
Aberdeen and the surrounding Grampian area are considered among the best places to live in Scotland, offering a blend of cosmopolitan urban life and rural outdoor lifestyle in towns of Aberdeenshire and Moray.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Kenny O’Brien, Associate Director – Public Protection, at Kenneth.obrien2@nhs.scot.
