A highly reputable Sixth Form college in Cambridge is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Head of Department – Electrical Installations to join their dynamic team. The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Head of Department in overseeing the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Electrical Installations. They will play a key role in curriculum development, staff mentoring, and ensuring the highest standards of student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the leadership and management of the Electrical Installations department.
* Support curriculum planning, development, and quality assurance.
* Teach and assess students across a range of electrical installation courses.
* Monitor student progress and implement strategies for improvement.
* Lead and inspire staff, providing guidance and professional development.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and awarding body requirements.
* Foster strong links with employers and industry professionals.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have:
* A relevant qualification in Electrical Installations (Level 3 or above).
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
* Extensive experience in electrical installation and a strong understanding of industry standards.
* Previous teaching or training experience within further education or apprenticeships.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* A passion for delivering high-quality education and supporting student success.
