Senior Contracting Solicitor

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Negotiating contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector framework agreements, and advising on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Improving standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and issues encountered.
3. Handling various commercial contracting issues, such as local-country adoption contracts, agreements with Grant Thornton International member-firms, data-sharing agreements, secondment and placement agreements, and software supply contracts; interpreting contractual provisions; providing legal input on various contractual situations; advising on risk management and compliance issues; and other legal and risk-related matters.
4. Advising on collaboration, referral, and introduction agreements.
5. Collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel and risk management teams to advise staff, including partners and directors, and to support service delivery.
6. Mentoring and supporting less experienced contracting lawyers.
7. Identifying risk trends and recommending mitigation strategies, including updates to templates and procedures.
8. Educating colleagues on legal and commercial risk issues through training and guidance materials.
Candidate Profile
The minimum qualifications include being a qualified solicitor or barrister with:
1. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
2. Good knowledge of professional liability law.
3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
4. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
5. Proactive attitude and ability to manage conflicting demands.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including drafting contractual terms.
7. Experience in managing and developing colleagues.
