Description About the role We’re looking for inspiring leaders to help shape the future of social housing in Cornwall. As a Regional Housing Manager, you’ll provide senior leadership across a locality, supporting the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused tenancy and neighbourhood services that make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Working closely with your team, you’ll build strong communities by listening and responding to the needs of our tenants, helping them to sustain their tenancies and feel proud of the places they call home. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of housing management roles, including a Neighbourhood Housing Manager, Housing Officers and specialist roles delivering community safety and tenancy sustainment. You’ll provide the link in our localities to repairs, making sure we bring people and property together to work collaboratively, and provide high quality services focussed on place-based activities. This role will also take responsibility to lead one of our Cornwall-wide services, whether this is housing for older people or centralised housing management services, and to provide strategic leadership for a key policy area. You’ll need to bring your expertise to help drive service transformation, performance improvement, and innovation across the wider organisation. Our North-East area covers from central towns of Bodmin to the seaside at Bude, from Launceston and over to picturesque Padstow, Camelford and Wadebridge. Our South-East area is from central towns of Liskeard to Torpoint/Saltash overlooking the Tamar, and across our beautiful coastline from Rame Head to Looe and St Austell. About you To be successful, you’ll have: Proven experience of leading, motivating and coaching multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality customer-facing services. Evidence of applying technical skills; either landlord and tenant law, housing legislation, anti-social behaviour or equivalent in a similar service, with the ability to solve a problem and find creative solutions to complex issues. A willingness to be a visible leader and positive role model, showing resilience and remaining calm under pressure to make good decisions. Experience of partnership working with internal and external agencies, of obtaining successful outcomes from multi-agency meetings and of strategic multi-agency activity within housing or similar related field. Ability to manage escalations and complaints in housing or similar service environment, turning difficult conversations around to build positive and trusted customer relationships. A passion for resident engagement, developing community action plans and/or strategic activities within housing or similar related field.
