Key purpose: As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the HR function and ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services across the charity. You will provide HR advice and support to employees and managers, manage a variety of HR processes, and help drive initiatives that enhance our people management practices. Key responsibilities: Provide guidance and advice to line managers and employees on a range of HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, absence management, and policy interpretation. Support with employee relations casework, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management in line with company policies and employment law. Assist with the recruitment process, including job advertisements, interview coordination, and conducting reference checks. Support new starters with their onboarding process. Ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to and help update them in line with current legislation and best practices. Actively promote employee wellbeing initiatives and ensure employees are aware of available support resources. Maintain accurate employee records, manage HR databases, and assist with HR reporting, when required. Support with various HR projects, such as implementing HR software or employee engagement initiatives. Person Specification: This role would suit an experienced HR Administrator or HR Assistant looking to take the next step and develop their HR advisory skills. Essential Proven experience as an HR Administrator or HR Assistant, with an understanding of HR processes and employment law. CIPD Level 3 or equivalent (or working towards). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and managers. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism, while providing practical solutions. Strong attention to detail, particularly in managing HR records and casework. Competent in using HR software (preferably) and Microsoft Office Suite. Desirable Experience of working in the charity sector. Experience of delivering projects as part of a HR team.
