Neighbourhood Group Worker
The Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) is recruiting for Neighbourhood Group Workers in our Preston District. This role offers a rewarding vocation, working with some of Lancashire's most amazing children, young people, and their families. We work with children and young people aged 0-19 years, and up to age 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
As a Neighbourhood Group Worker, you will work directly with children and young people and their families, delivering our curriculum of quality groups and courses in Family Hubs, district community venues, and schools. We provide groups and courses to support children, young people, and their families to grow, learn, and develop. This includes antenatal support, newborn groups, preschool sessions for 0–5-year-olds, and activities for 5–11-year-olds that focus on emotional health, healthy lifestyles, school transitions, and support for children with Special Educational Needs and communication needs.
We are seeking passionate and creative individuals with experience in working with children, young people, and their families, who are open to further training and development opportunities. A good understanding of IT packages and our Management Information System is essential. Responsibilities include recording attendance, planning and evaluating groups and courses, and creating informative handouts and public display boards.
Our Neighbourhood Group Workers receive training and shadowing opportunities throughout their induction. They are part of the wider Children and Family Wellbeing Service, ensuring that children, young people, and their families receive the right support at the right time. The Neighbourhood, Community, and Family Intensive Support teams provide support across Level 2 and 3 on the Lancashire Continuum of Need. This role involves liaising with colleagues, schools, and multi-agency partners to deliver support within your district and the Family Hubs network.
