I have a requirement for a client of ours to work on the Welsh Water AMP8 framework, covering the position of ECIA Commissioning Engineer, to strengthen the team.
The client is a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction company working in the water and wastewater industry. Their experienced project management and in-house operational teams work with clients to provide professional services. Their capabilities enable them to deliver solutions across the civil and MEICA spectrum.
You will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and will manage all commissioning activities, ensuring work is undertaken safely in accordance with Company Procedures, specifications, and good working practices.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Carrying out Commissioning Engineers R&R’s and delivering schemes in a safe, compliant manner.
2. Reviewing and monitoring MEICA-related project risks.
3. Attending commissioning system inductions and toolbox talks.
4. Liaising with the design team to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at the design stage and included in the scope of works.
5. Reviewing design deliverables, including FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements.
6. Reviewing and developing Compliance & Commissioning Plans in conjunction with design intent.
7. Overseeing and signing off FAT and SAT, and witnessing process tests.
8. Assisting in the development of the initial Commissioning Programme.
9. Attending progress and commissioning meetings.
10. Compiling commissioning documentation and deliverables.
11. Providing input into commissioning strategy reviews and documentation.
12. Liaising with subcontractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
13. Assisting O&M Coordinators in the compilation and review of O&M Manuals.
14. Distributing commissioning logs, daily diaries, and other information from engineers.
15. Assisting in the preparation of takeover reports.
16. Liaising with the complete scheme delivery team.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
* Experience in electrical commissioning.
* Experience working on UK water frameworks, with Welsh Water experience desirable.
* Ability to produce calculations using Excel.
* CSCS supervisory card relevant to the trade.
Job Offer:
* Freelance outside IR35 – Day rate DOB based on experience.
* Initial 6 months with potential for a 5-year contract.
* All sites based around North Wales (Bangor, Kinmel Bay, Corwen, Aberystwyth, among others).
