Middlesbrough Council is seeking an experienced Traffic Signals Engineer/Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in designing traffic signal systems and other Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment across the Tees Valley region.
You will undertake operations involved with the design of traffic signal pedestrian crossings and junctions. This is a 2-year contract to aid the department in the design process with the introduction of the DfT traffic obsolescence grant (TSOG) funding.
We require the ideal candidate to have relevant knowledge and experience of the traffic signal standards, design standards, Tees Valley area, Yunex IC4 configuration knowledge and experience, key signal knowledge and experience, and full working experience of using AutoCAD.
Responsibilities include:
1. Design of pedestrian and traffic signal junctions to the latest specifications.
2. Produce working AutoCAD drawing to aid the construction and implementation of upgrades.
3. To produce BOQ and order the relevant equipment.
4. Produce configurations based on Yunex IC4 application software.
5. Assist with site installation works and be responsible for the completion of all relevant paperwork in accordance with Health and Safety standards.
