Our client has grown to become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of wheat derivatives such as starches, sweeteners, proteins, and alcohol for major food and industrial sectors worldwide. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing Engineering team.
The role will support the continual growth and development of their manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Automation and Controls Manager, you will be actively involved in developing and maintaining the site's electrical control systems and associated documentation.
Key Activities and Responsibilities of an Electrical Design Engineer
1. Responsible for maintaining all electrical drawings on site, using SPAC software.
2. Liaising with Electrical Project Engineer and Site Electrical Engineer when integration into MV/LV distribution system is required.
3. Work alongside the Automation and Control team to manage the design and integration of modifications into the PLC control infrastructure.
4. Identifying areas of obsolescence to allow accurate budgets for replacement activities to be set.
5. For modifications, producing drawings, cable schedules, materials list, and test documentation that can be provided to our authorised electrical contractors as part of requests for quotation.
6. Helping to develop a system to manage/control project documentation and control of change.
7. Providing support to the Project department and the Electrical Project Engineer when required.
Skills & Knowledge of an Electrical Project Engineer
1. Professional qualification(s) in Electrical Engineering/Design essential.
2. FMCG / Process background highly desirable.
3. Experience in a similar industrial role required of at least 3-5 years.
4. Proven experience in managing multiple electrical projects across production/manufacturing sites.
