Contract Construction Contracts Manager Health & Safety Management
Job Description
DCT Recruitment Ltd are looking for a H&S Officer Level 3 qualified to work with a team of other people on a construction site. This is a night shift and temporary position for 9-12 months. MUST HAVE CSCS card as construction site Monday to Sunday 7pm till 7am. Time and half weekends.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Set up RAMS for sub contractors.
2. Conduct own H&S inspections.
3. Be a health & safety go-to person for all such matters on site.
4. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments, method statements, COSHH, MSDS, Manual Handling assessments, DSE assessments, Toolbox talks, creating new templates and other safety-related documentation.
5. Carry out site inductions, orientation, workshops, training on site where required.
6. Assist with lifting plans, waste management plans, traffic management and site-specific plans and procedures as required.
7. Carry out on-site DSE assessments and review findings.
8. Ensure site-specific PPE / RPE requirements are met.
9. Carry out RPE mask face fit testing (training can be provided to do this).
10. Oversee and order H&S / PPE related consumables, stock, materials, and equipment.
11. Maintain site COSHH stores, register and assessments.
12. Ensure spill management related activities are suitable.
13. Manage residual COVID-19 risks on site.
14. Complete weekly HSE report for submission to client and TVL management team.
15. Oversee high risk and complex works.
16. Oversee and review temporary works arrangements on site.
17. Ensure adequate dedicated cutting and re-fuelling areas are in operation on site and remain compliant.
18. Assist the organisation in compliance with relevant industry Legislation including LOLER, PUWER, CDM, HASAWA etc.
19. Assist with the creation of, and annual review of organisational policies and procedures.
20. Ensure that safety inspections and audits are carried out at regular intervals on site, and that all findings are communicated to relevant Contracts Manager and Directors, and actioned.
21. Carry out on-site toolbox talks and briefings.
22. Manage organisational training and competency matrix spreadsheet, adding new starter information and cross-checking validity of details, right to work and qualifications etc.
23. Keep up to date with changes in current Legislation and suggest such changes where discovered and as relevant.
24. Support the organisation maintain ISO certification using the company management system and controlled forms.
25. Review sub-contractor RAMS for effectiveness and monitoring works.
26. Carry out incident investigations, RIDDOR and near miss reporting as may be necessary, conducting witness / injured party interviews and compiling evidence for incident investigation reports.
27. Conduct research into industry best practice approaches to help the organisation improve safety performance and efficiency.
28. Conduct HAVS assessments and maintain an up-to-date register.
29. Perform any other ad hoc health and safety, environmental and quality duties as required.
30. Provide additional general management and support to colleagues across the business.
31. Act as the company site Mental Health Awareness champion and aid the wellbeing of colleagues across the site.
32. Perform any other relevant acts and tasks as may be reasonably requested by Directors.
Skills Required
Qualifications Required
1. NEBOSH - HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management.
2. NEBOSH - National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety.
3. CSCS card.
4. Membership to a Health & Safety organization is advantageous but not necessary (e.g., IOSH).
