Field Bike Technician (FTC) The role To make available a sufficient number of safe and presentable Brompton Hire bikes to meet network demand. You’ll be working alongside a team of equally passionate and dedicated people with terrific communication and people skills and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service. Your duties will be to provide first class customer service, product information and advice, ensuring repairs and maintenance is carried out in a timely and thorough manner – thereby ensuring that our reputation of excellent customer care is upheld. Main duties Check the safety and presentation of all bikes available for hire on a prescribed routine. Provide a first class repair service at the docks and for bikes returned to the factory/Unit9 Plan a routine to visit all docks at least once per month. Organise collection and storage of repair bikes and bikes not required for immediate hire. Ensure accurate repair records are maintained and, in particular, docks IT records properly reflect bike status. Liaise closely with the Operations Manager on a daily basis. Liaise with the Brompton Bicycle Technical Support Organisation. Track turnaround times for queries; co-ordinate this across departments where necessary. Be a visible and accessible point of contact at all times for the team and the wider company so that customer service issues can be discussed and advised on. Review systems and processes in place to improve team efficiencies. Work with other departments to ensure customer service levels are consistent. Provide engineering feedback to the bicycle design, technical support and quality control teams Ensure a high standard of conduct at all times through leadership and example. Provide support to Brompton Bicycle Hire Marketing team events. Manage the company vehicle.
