The Pain Team contribute towards a safe and effective inpatient and outpatient pain management service for Barts Health. Newham University Hospital takes pride in being the hub for Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre. In line with this centre of excellence project, the pain team has active involvement in running the orthopaedic joint school where they provide education to patients requiring major surgical procedures in preparing them for their post-operative pain management. To achieve this, you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and skills required for a clinical nurse specialist in pain management. This will be measured against the Royal College of Nursing Pain Knowledge and Skills Framework for the Nursing Team as part of an appraisal process.
