Job Description
Are you a seasoned storyteller with a passion for creativity and a commitment to reaching diverse audiences? BOAT International, the leading global publication for the superyacht industry and luxury lifestyle, is seeking a Features Editor to help shape the voice and vision of our brand.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class team dedicated to producing innovative, high-quality content across print, digital, and live platforms. In this role, you’ll drive the development of compelling features, oversee key sections of the magazine, and represent the brand at prestigious events around the world.
Key Responsibilities
1. Editorial Leadership: Commission and edit all major features, working closely with the creative team to ensure that content and layouts meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
2. Owners’ Club: Lead this signature section, commissioning exclusive profiles and Epic Adventure stories that showcase a variety of perspectives and experiences.
3. Content Creation: Write and contribute to the magazine’s back-page column, The Bitter End, as well as occasional features and profiles.
4. Supplement Production: Oversee the editing and production of our aviation supplement and other specialty publications.
5. Event Integration: Collaborate with the editorial team on content planning and delivery for marquee events such as the Superyacht Design Festival, Explorer Yachts Summit, and Ocean Talks.
6. Contributor Management: Build and maintain relationships with a diverse network of freelance writers, ensuring all commissioned content aligns with BOAT International’s tone, style, and values.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven Experience: A strong track record in publishing and editorial roles, with demonstrated expertise in feature writing, commissioning, and content management.
2. Creative and Commercial Balance: Ability to align editorial content with brand objectives while maintaining a fresh, engaging, and inclusive voice.
3. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the luxury lifestyle sector is a plus, but enthusiasm for learning about the superyacht industry is equally important.
4. Multiplatform Expertise: Comfortable working across various formats, including print, digital, and video.
5. Exceptional Skills: Outstanding writing, editing, and organizational abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
6. Collaborative Mindset: A team-oriented approach, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in all aspects of storytelling and content creation.

Summary of employee benefits
* Annual leave - Full-time benefit is 33 days per year (25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays). The Company also offers up to an additional 3 days of paid time off during the Christmas office closure period.
* You will also receive your birthday off or the following day each year, provided it falls on a weekday.
