The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an E-Learning and Immersive Learning Technologist within our E-Learning Team. The E-Learning Team is part of the Learning and Development Team at NCCG and is passionate about being at the forefront of digital, E-Learning and Immersive Learning technologies. This post would suit someone who would like to be involved in supporting teachers, staff and students to use software to enable them to carry out their day-to-day role and learn more effectively.
When using current software, they are developing digital skills to support them in their next steps whether that be education or work enabling them to work more efficiently. There will be a particular focus on being involved in projects linked to our top college softwares and emerging technologies to enable us to carry out our strategic vision. These include Microsoft 365, AI, VR and immersive technologies.
We are looking for a passionate, innovative, enthusiastic individual who will work well in a small team to support digital and E-Learning developments in our Outstanding organisation. You do not need to be an expert in all the technologies we use, but be confident in the use of computing and IT and be keen to learn and develop. This job will offer opportunities to develop your knowledge on various E-Learning and digital technologies, skills on mentoring and training staff, as well as collaborating with other educational establishments. You will be able to attend training and events to develop your own skills to ensure that we can then cascade this knowledge to support staff, teachers, and students.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington College but may be required to travel across sites.
What You Will Be Doing
Technology Integration and Project Implementation
* Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in digital, educational innovative technologies with a current focus on Microsoft 365, AI, and VR/360/Immersive Technologies, recommending improvements or innovations where appropriate. Develop knowledge and practice in using top college software. This includes knowledge of security risks and best practice and ensuring compliance with NCCG Cyber security policy, process, and protocols, so it is up-to-date and meets customer needs.
Support and Training
* Work collaboratively to assist in providing high quality experience to our learners, college teams, curriculum, external organisations, and employers.
* Advise on the best use of emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. Motivating and encouraging staff development and use of our main digital software and interactive learning environments across the college classroom and beyond including blended learning, distance learning and immersive technologies.
* To provide training and CPDL to staff, students, and other stakeholders.
Digital Content Development
* Work with the Learning and Development Manager, the E-Learning Team, Curriculum teams and Employers to assist in the creation, adaptation, and curation of engaging digital learning materials aligning with effective learning strategies, including videos, interactive activities, and assessments.
* Evaluation & Improvement: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of digital learning resources and strategies, using analytics and feedback to drive improvements.
* Compliance & Accessibility: Ensure all digital learning content complies with relevant accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
What We Are Looking For
* Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Be consistently curious to seek out and develop new approaches to learning using new technologies
* Evidence of continued and current professional updating in learning technology
* Current knowledge and understanding of IT, e-learning, Immersive learning and information learning technologies
* Experience of a range of IT systems and software
* Experience of supporting individuals and teams in developing their skills in information technology, sharing best practice with individuals and teams
* Experience of project management and implementation
* Be willing to undertake CPDL relevant to your role
* Display initiative, be positive, innovative and enthusiastic
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Have a highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable attitude
* Have excellent organisational skills, being able to manage own workload and complete tasks.
