Our growing Finance team is currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant. Reporting to the General Manager - Financial Reporting & Planning, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of statutory financial reports, provide technical accounting assistance relating to complex matters and drive the optimisation of the financial reporting processes, policies, controls and governance.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, aspiring and solutions-focused Senior Financial Accountant to join our ever-growing business. Your responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to:
1. Month-end - Review the general ledger and relevant month-end reconciliations to assess compliance with company accounting policies and accounting standard requirements. Identify opportunities and implement initiatives which will promote efficiencies in the month-end close.
2. Statutory Financial Reporting - Preparation of consolidations, half-year and year-end financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
3. Technical Accounting - Provide technical accounting support in a wide range of circumstances, including complex accounting matters.
4. Financial Governance - Implement enhanced financial internal controls, business policies and processes to support an accurate and efficient financial reporting function.
Skills and Experience
Work Experience
1. 5+ years' financial accounting experience.
2. Big 4/mid-tier audit experience.
Formal Education
1. Degree in Accounting / Commerce / Business.
2. CA / CPA qualification.
Commercial Skills
1. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3. Problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvements.
4. Ability to champion and influence change.
5. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
6. Ability to be a helpful and caring mentor and coach.
