Are you a qualified Science teacher with an empathetic approach, and a passion for supporting children with mental health needs? Are you ready to take the next step in your career in an exciting and passionate Pupil Referral Unit? If so, Academics have the perfect Science teaching role for you! Based in an Independent School, you'll work to the Science GCSE curriculum, ensuring a good standard of education is given to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
About You:
1. QTS required with Secondary Science specialism (KS3 and KS4)
2. Affinity for children with SEMH needs and Looked After Children (LAC)
3. Ability to plan, teach, and assess to GCSE standard
4. Committed to raising the aspirations of children with mental health requirements in an SEMH school
5. An effective communicator, with children, parents, and colleagues
6. A team player, able to work collaboratively
7. Pastoral capabilities, including contributing to EHCPs
8. Adaptable and proactive; you must be able to react to the events the day could throw at you!
9. Professional at all times
About The Job:
1. Delivering Science to children with mixed abilities up to Key Stage 4
2. Working in a small, Independent PRU with a high proportion of Looked After Children (LAC)
3. Supporting high aspirations and achievement for SEMH pupils
