About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Technical Services Support Engineer to join their team in Manchester. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems across buildings like Manchester Town Hall and other public buildings managed by Manchester City Council (MCC). You'll also provide support and direction to the engineering team, helping to drive performance and ensure the delivery of high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: You'll provide expert technical guidance to the team, helping to solve complex issues and ensure the smooth operation of mechanical and electrical systems.
Compliance and Standards: Oversee that all engineering work meets the required regulatory and contractual standards, ensuring accurate records are kept and regular maintenance is carried out as scheduled.
Resource Coordination: Help ensure that materials, equipment, and team members are effectively utilized to meet service delivery targets and maintain operational efficiency.
Team Development: Work closely with the Technical Services Manager to support the team, identify skill gaps, and ensure training needs are met. Ensure all work is aligned with company policies, especially regarding health and safety.
Customer-Centric Approach: Ensure customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality service. Support the team in delivering technical solutions that meet the needs of the clients at the Manchester Town Hall Complex and other public buildings.
Project Support: Assist in the 'Our Town Hall' refurbishment project by coordinating with the project team to ensure smooth integration of engineering services during this major upgrade.
What You'll Deliver:
Operational Excellence: Help improve service quality and operational performance, focusing on customer satisfaction and smooth delivery of all technical services.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all services and maintenance activities meet the necessary standards and contractual obligations for the Manchester Town Hall Complex and other MCC buildings.
Asset Management: Support in managing and maintaining an up-to-date record of all assets, ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of all systems.
Project Coordination: Assist in managing the technical aspects of the refurbishment project at Manchester Town Hall, ensuring that the engineering services align with the project timelines and requirements.
Key Objectives:
Lead efforts to continuously improve service delivery and operational standards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual, safety, and regulatory standards across facilities managed by our client.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of assets, systems, and processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
Collaborate with the Technical Services Manager and project teams to support key projects, particularly those involving facility upgrades or refurbishments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Qualified to City & Guilds, NVQ or HNC equivalent qualification.
A Facilities Management or Energy (Zero Carbon) background.
Ideally will have had experience of delivering a major change project or programme or equivalent experience.
