This is a fantastic opportunity for a registered nurse or newly qualified nurse to develop their skill base and work within a supportive team to learn the speciality cohort of Oncology and Haematology potentially leading to training in chemotherapy administration. Ward 17 is a 18-bedded Haematology Ward with an element of General Medicine as part of the Medical Division within the James Paget Hospital, caring for patients with malignant and non-malignant blood disorders, cancers and general medicine. The successful candidate will be a caring, compassionate, dedicated Registered Nurse with an NMC registration, who can work well within a team whilst also able to show individual initiative, clinical competency and strive to provide excellent progressive nursing care. Main duties of the job To assess basic and specialist care needs of patients and implement without direct supervision. The nurse should at all times act in such a manner as to justify public trust and confidence to safeguard the interest of individual patients. Candidates would benefit from having experience in Haematology, Oncology or Acute Medicine, however, this is not essential as training and professional development is provided. Acute NHS experience.
