A little bit about what we are looking for...
Do you take pride in keeping things clean, organised, and running smoothly? Are you someone who enjoys working in a friendly environment and providing a high level of service? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
As a key member of the team at Kingsmill, your role will be to ensure residents have a clean, comfortable living space and to maintain positive relationships with both residents and colleagues. Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, and you’ll have the chance to make a real difference in providing the best service possible.
Why You'll Love This Role:
* Work in a Supportive Team: You'll be part of a welcoming, friendly team where everyone works together to ensure residents feel at home.
* A Real Impact: Your efforts will directly improve the living environment for residents, making their stay comfortable and enjoyable.
* Job Variety: No two days are the same, with a mix of cleaning, maintenance, and people-focused tasks. You’ll have a chance to work with different teams and have your day filled with variety.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Keeping it clean: You’ll be responsible for daily cleaning tasks including damp dusting, high dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and changing beds, ensuring that every room is in top condition.
* Restocking supplies: You’ll make sure each room is stocked with essentials like toilet rolls and towels, and send laundry to be cleaned when necessary.
* Making repairs easy: If you spot something that needs fixing, you’ll report it to the line manager so we can take care of it right away.
* Assisting with furniture moves: You’ll help move furniture around while following health and safety guidelines, ensuring the space is always safe and ready for residents.
* Ensuring safety and security: You’ll be responsible for ensuring all fire doors are closed and rooms are locked after cleaning, keeping everyone safe and secure.
* Laundry & Equipment: From using the washing machines to counting dirty linen for collection, you’ll help keep everything in order. You’ll also ensure equipment is in good working condition, reporting any faults that need attention.
* Additional duties: You’ll also be involved in other tasks like window cleaning, checking light bulbs, picking up litter, and keeping corridors and kitchens in excellent condition.
* Team player: You’ll attend colleagues meetings, report any issues that come up, and work alongside the line manager to ensure everything is running smoothly. You’ll also be part of the out-of-hours support team and may be required to use the master key.
* Safety First: Wearing protective clothing and following health and safety procedures will be key to your role.
What We’re Looking for:
* Experience: Previous experience in domestic cleaning or hospitality would be great. If you’re familiar with lifting and handling, that’s a bonus too!
* Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety protocols and the ability to follow them will be important to keep everyone safe.
* Communication Skills: You’ll need to be a good communicator, able to interact respectfully with residents and colleagues alike. Keeping things confidential is key.
* Attention to Detail: From changing hoover bags to checking that light bulbs are working, you’ll need to pay attention to the little details that make a big difference.
* Time Management: Being a good timekeeper and managing your daily tasks effectively will help you stay on top of things.
Disclosure and Barring Service:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete a basic DBS check. A basic DBS check will show any unspent convictions. This role will be required to visit/support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore, we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.
Having unspent convictions will not necessarily preclude you from being recruited into the role; if you are potentially the successful candidate, we will complete a risk assessment with you to understand the circumstances around your conviction, how relevant they are to the post you have applied for, and what remedial action, if any, you have taken since your conviction. Suitable references will also need to be obtained prior to commencement of employment.
AGENCIES: We know where you are if we need your support so please do not contact us.
