In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of mail and parcels within our organisation. You will supervise and mentor the E2 Messenger while ensuring that the Post Room operates efficiently and in compliance with Unit Postal Standing Orders, Local Security Regulations, and JSP 367. Your responsibilities will include managing the handling and distribution of classified and accountable items, liaising with civilian agencies, and providing guidance on the proper usage of Official Mail services. Additionally, you will act as the Post Room Radiation Protection Officer and serve as the focal point for Health and Safety issues within the Post Room. This is a crucial role that ensures smooth communication and operations within our organisation. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description Collect and deliver internal and external mail and packages promptly and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections. Supervision and Mentoring: Supervise, mentor, and develop the E2 Messenger to ensure effective performance. Post Room Management: Ensure the Post Room operates in compliance with Unit Postal Standing Orders, Local Security Regulations, and JSP 367, including: Correct handling and distribution of classified and accountable items. Proper handling of Royal Mail, Defence Mail, and Courier deliveries. Compliance with regulations for internal and external mail dispatch. Liaise with civilian agencies, including Royal Mail, Parcel Force, and DMC. Guidance and Compliance: Provide guidance to Unit personnel regarding the correct usage of Official Mail services and address potential infringements. Health and Safety Responsibilities: Act as the Post Room Radiation Protection Officer, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to. Serve as the focal point for Health and Safety issues within the Post Room. Additional Tasks: Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the line management chain.
