This is your opportunity to take your Motor Engineering and Management experience into a brand new role.
Because of the growth of the Company, a Manager is needed to lead and develop the team of multi-skilled Motor Engineers. Also you'll have responsibility for the day-to-day operations.
The role is very diverse. It will involve team management and development, oversight of team activities, adherence to agreed SLA/KPIs, resolving issues arising from the wide variety of external stakeholders they interact with.
You will have the autonomy to shape this role and to develop it alongside the exciting growth and future plans of the Company. Also as Engineering Manager you will be actively seeking ways to improve and develop the business.
You will support the Engineering Director with both internal and external client management interacting with all stakeholders including sub-contractors.

You may be required to travel and assist other Business areas using your technical abilities as well as managing multiple client allocations.
Main responsibilities of the Motor Engineering Manager includes:
1. Managing staff to support them in completing tasks
2. Being the team's technical referral point and providing sound technical knowledge to ensure swift conclusions
3. Recruiting and training new employees
4. Ensuring compliance with all company policies
5. Conducting performance reviews of staff
6. Coaching, counselling and performance managing employees
7. Creating Department goals
8. Communicating progress, needs and updating to Senior Management
9. Problem solving and dealing with customer/client complaints
10. Completion of own Engineering jobs, establishing the best repair method for damages in line with manufacturer guidelines on both new and registered vehicles, including authorising and challenging repair costs as well as estimating damaged vehicles via images
To be successful in the Motor Engineering Manager's role you will demonstrate:
11. Experience of Motor Engineering team management
12. Motor Industry knowledge and experience in Engineering
13. IAEA Membership (preferred)
14. ATA VDA and AQP accredited and committed to maintaining this
15. Personable and approachable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
16. Confidence and ability to deal with customers and colleagues across all areas of the business and levels of seniority
17. Excellent personal organisation, administration, numeracy and literacy skills
18. The ability to see the bigger picture and understand how issues connect
19. Complaint handling regarding vehicle repair and cost
20. MI reporting, both internally and externally with the ability to analyse the data
