Job Description
The purpose of this position is to oversee activities performed by Accounting Departments in our Region to ensure compliance with US GAAP, global policies, and procedures any other local tax legislation.
1. Monthly Review of Countries P&L Submission Packages, and approval for Month End Close.
2. Execute the review procedures to ensure global accounting entries submitted by CHQ are timely and accurately posted by all the countries.
3. Actively participate on the monthly review of third party outlays and Intercompany entries, to validate compliance with our Global Policies and Procedures.
4. Provide support to the countries on the evaluation of their control environment by performing an Annual Internal Control Evaluations. Discuss and follow up with corresponding Country Controllers the implementation of actions plans to mitigate deficiencies identified in such evaluations.
5. Support Country Controllers and other Accounting staff to guarantee a proper application/adoption of Company´s Policies, Standards and Accounting Guidance.
6. Collaborate with the Country Controllers and/or Regional Accounting team on the preparation and delivery of any Accounting related Global request / information requirement.
7. Participate in the review of Accounting Processes, in order to look for improvement opportunities with positive impact on Productivity and Efficiency in Accounting.
8. Provide financial and accounting expertise and support for the regional business operations management teams.
9. Assist in the preparation and execution of financial policies and procedures.
10. If required, support Country Controllers on the preparation of information/documentation for Internal Control Evaluations and Internal/External Audits.
11. Contribute to decisions regarding financial strategy.
12. Maintain a good relationship and communicate frequently with Country Controllers & District Managers
13. Support the Regional Controller on the coordination of the Annual Budgeting process across the Region.
Qualifications
14. Proven and strong experience as a Regional Controller, Regional Accounting Manager, Finance Manager or Controller
15. Proven Accounting and Finance experience (preferably in the Global Logistics Industry)
16. Accounting Qualification
17. Desire local tax and regulatory knowledge
18. Good understanding of business as well as up to date knowledge of Accounting Rules & Regulations (preferably including US GAAP)
19. Proficient in MS Office, including PowerBI, Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables
20. Strong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to the details
21. Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to financial persons as well as non-financial persons at all levels from Operations to Senior Management to obtain positive results
22. Proven leadership attitude and skills
23. Ability to drive through change
24. Experience in compliance and internal controls.
25. Fluent in English
This position may require occasional travel and is based in London.
