Supply Chain Lead Location: Royston, UK Job Family: Supply Chain & Logistics The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for providing outstanding service and supply chain expertise for the Noble Metals operation within the PGMS UK business with strong ties to the USA plant/business. You will be an agent for change and introduce world class process and systems thinking utilizing LEAN and other process improvement tools. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, Royston and leading the local team this position is responsible to plan, direct and control materials management and related functions in the specific areas of inventory control, shipping/receiving, refining and production planning/scheduling to provide timely cost-effective support to manufacturing. This position is also required to identify and support efficiency improvements for the organization through procedural and/or systems modifications. Your responsibilities: • Support EHS principles to ensure that EHS is given top priority and good practice is always followed. • Guide and oversee the Planning/Scheduling team, the Material & Logistics team, and the Metal Control team (approx. 15 total employees). • Lead the change within the Royston Noble Metals Supply Chain function and influencing the wider business, identifying and capturing inefficiencies and ineffectiveness in procedures and working practices. • Work closely with Production Managers and Supervisors to achieve target OTIF levels. • Work closely with Commercial and directly with customers to drive continuous improvement of customer satisfaction following directions from the Global Market Lead, Noble Metals. • Present site capacities including opportunities and bottlenecks and different scenarios to overcome these in the monthly SPCR meeting. • Work closely with Finance on numerous efforts (working losses, de-alloy recoveries, physical inventory, etc.). Support/Implement Cost to Serve model & validate assumptions. • Responsible for sub-contractor approvals, workload allocation & management. Requirements for the role: • Experience in a Production Control/Supply Chain role. • Prior experience in manufacturing is essential. • Experienced and advanced user of IT Systems, including MS Office. • Ability to present complex data. • Proven leadership, decision-making, and people management skills, with the ability to lead and coach a team effectively. • Ability to build strong working relationships with other functional teams. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proven solving, continuous improvement, planning and organizational skills. • This role follows a hybrid working model, with an expectation of being in the office 3 to 4 days per week.
