Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen in theatre at York Teaching Hospital to recruit a Band 6 Deputy Team Leader for breast surgery. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic practitioner with the appropriate clinical and scrub experience to lead our breast surgery theatres. The successful candidate will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience at Band 5 in Theatres and have experience in Breast surgery procedures. This role requires scrub experience and service/ time management skills to coordinate equipment and disposables for each patient. An eye for detail is essential and you should have exceptional organisational skills to be able to manage product ordering per patient and ensure resources are not wasted. You should be able to demonstrate involvement in service improvement with some evidence of change management. Main duties of the job Our breast surgery service is evolving rapidly, you will need to be adaptive and willing to cover the shift pattern required to run the service and have the capacity to go the extra mile. We currently cover elective surgery Monday to Friday with various shift patterns between 08.00 and 20.00 over 4 days. You will be expected to exhibit knowledge of how we work towards our Trust's vision and be a real team player.
